Throw Back Thursday #TBT Post: Solar PV

Solar Panels

#TBT post: Whilst we still find it a little surprising that on site power generation and other green requirements have not become more commonplace in new build home developments, #SelfBuilders and #Homeowners have been leading the way for many years.

Not all roofs are suitable (ideal) for solar installations, but you do need more land than most if you are going to look at alternatives.

This Solar PV Array erected in 2010 as part of a home extension project in Nottingham, not only provided green energy for the home but also shading for the more delicate vegetable crops in their home growing area . . . and twelve and a half years on, having taken advantage of the Feed-In Tariff (a 25 year scheme), this homeowner has already been paid many thousands of pounds for the energy they have generated and exported to the national grid, with many more years of payments yet to come.
